Carpe Diem Haiku Charcoal (sumi)

Snow
More snow falling
Those charcoal eyes

White winter
Warm charcoal fire
White ashes

Warming fire
Behind the last charcoal
A blackened cricket

  1. Enjoyed them all, but especially the "blackened cricket." Unexpected and delightful even if it's a dead thing. Well done.

  4. Those crickets! Most probably it's dead, but who knows? Have you seen "The Last Emperor"? Puyi as an old man takes out a living cricket out of a small cage, where he had left it as a young boy.
