The seasons go round
And prayers leave prayer wheels
Practice on pillars
Profession of faith, prayer, fasting, alms, pilgrimage.
Abstain from killing (1),
taking what is not given. (2), avoiding sexual misconduct (3), abstain from
false speech (4), fermented drink that causes heedlessness.
Souls may be leaving
Spirits inhabit mountains
But ah, the beauty
Near the mountains’ ice
Only the conifers thrive
Shelter for shamans
Calving of glaciers
Shaman’s drumming and singing
Different but one
Passionate approach!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful series Lothar; I am glad to read how you have brought in the differences between the religions in this series. By the way, in ancient Japan there were 5 seasons, New Year was the fifth.
