Carpe Diem Haiku Kai Sunday Time Challenge No. 3: Hurricane

I had just written about a tree brocken by the wind [1]. So this is a very current topic.

柔弱勝剛強。

Soft and weak will overcome hard and strong.
… says the Daodejing (道德經).

Raging storm
The strong are falling
But the penitent survives

After the storm
We collect the broken
Kintsugi [2]

Winter storm
Rattling in the shingles
Trees stand in awe

In the elm trees
Storm rolling and rumbling
Gathering twigs

Clashing raindrops
The storm whistles a tune
Of destruction

Storm rushes on
Leaving behind
Fear and debris
