Haiku for National Haiku Writing Month – December 2025 Second Half


National Haiku Writing Month has been founded by the well known haiku poet Michael Dylan Welch. The goal is to write at least one haiku a day. National Haiku Writing Month is in its 14th year. swimming in 
cologne's neptune community pool 
my friend masato 
~ Poseidon

in the desert 
staring at the night sky 
with sarah ~ Sahara

hill station in fog 
but the train's passengers 
are about to ski 
~ Passengers

too lazy 
to prepare ratatouille 
but to eat ... 
~ Ratatouille

light of dawn 
soothing the night's wounds 
the willow still weeps 
~ Willow

still don't have 
nine bean rows 
nor a bee hive 
~ Bean

sailing with 
elrond and other elves 
no, not I, alas!

overboard 
katerina and arturo 
again overboard

OVERBOARD 
no, we all keep silent 
and charon steers on

curiosity 
kills the cat 
but works for the dog

the sleuth 
sniffing for truffels

still listening to 
the vast emptiness of the 
frozen borderline

an icicle falls 
silently into the snow from
