Some of my haiku have been published on the Mainichi Shinbun (毎日新聞). The haiku section is edited by Mr. Dhugal J. Lindsay, who started doing this after Mr. Isamu Hashimoto passed away in 2017 [1]. I am very grateful that I could share these haiku in 2025. If you also like to submit haiku to the Mainichi Sjinbun, please do so here [2].
February 13, 2025
the fog
is skating
on thin ice
February 13, 2025
some fresh snow
not surviving
but the crocus does
May 13, 2025
at the traffic lights
the fog joins me
waiting
June 6, 2025
waves roll
on and off the cliff
blooming heather
June 17, 2025
the old peach tree
is blooming again
back from hospital
July 7, 2025
rainstorm
on men and plants
all bow
July 25, 2025
the sparrows discover
the freshly planted peas
must be god's plan
August 13, 2025
not knowing
the name of the weeds
we tear out
August 26, 2025
under the apple tree
watching the tiny apples
and you
November 7, 2025
colored leaves
some are falling
as the fog lifts
November 22, 2025
equinox
at least day and night
don't fight
the fog
is skating
on thin ice
