Autumn Days – Haiku

Lord: it is time. Summer has been great.

Lay your shadow on the sundials
and let go of the winds in the fields.
Herr: es ist Zeit. Der Sommer war sehr groß.
Leg deinen Schatten auf die Sonnenuhren,
und auf den Fluren laß die Winde los.

Wind in the bushes
The leaves sound like raining
Not fallen yet

Busy squirrel
Dead leaves tumble
In the sunshine

The dust devil
Dreams of becoming
A tornado

Trick or treat
The big pumpkin
Keeps smiling

Visiting parents
Mother’s pies and comments on
Dad’s and my belly

Autumn is lurking
Wind prowling around the oaks
Then shutting the door

Gust of wind
Taking away leaves
Then leaving
