Carpe Diem Haiku Hatsu Arashi (First Storm) 初嵐

Thunderstorm passing
Cascades of yellow leaves
Cicadas again

Fog is lifting
Morning says good-bye
To the wild geese

In the mountains
Fog, sleet, and first snow
Few withered grass stalks

Mist over meadow
Moon coughing in halo
Snow owl blinks

  1. I suspect I would blink too, if I saw a coughing moon! :)

  3. Thanks! I guess these snow owls are cool guys, they just blink when the moon is coughing. :-))

  4. Sometimes the cicadas deserve a good drenching!

  6. A coughing moon... reminds me of the book "the wind of the moon" by Eric Linklater... read it as a kid I think
