Some Haiku for Summer

Shuffling feet
An old man
With a grandfatherly dog

(Simultaneously published at POETS The Original)

Drops of sweat
Finally Summer
Crickets chirp like crazy

An airplane
Flying low, roaring
Cricket chirps louder

Dark river
Sparse light on clouds
A dog barks

Clueless
Without key or note
The merle’s song

Shuffling feet
An old man
With a grandfatherly dog

Sometimes
The crystal wings of angels
As evening starts with afterglow

Old yellow lantern
Still poking into the night
Lazy wind in trees

The boughs
Swaying back and forth
While the lights dim

Night gone
But her fragrance
Still lingers on

Upset moon
Dashing to the horizon
To watch his fav sit-com

Words carved into ice
Only to watch them
Melt into oblivion
