National Haiku Writing Month has been founded by the well known haiku poet Michael Dylan Welch. The goal is to write at least one haiku a day. National Haiku Writing Month is in its 14th year. [4] Bo Juyi (白居易) or Bai Juyi (the u in ju is pronounced ü, yes like the German umlaut) lived from 772-846. BTW it's Bo Juyi and not John Bo Juyi. The compilation 300 poems of the Tang period (唐詩三百首) contains six of his poems, although it is important to note that over 2800 of his poems have survived – more than of any other poet of this period. The most famous is very long and tells of Yang Guifei (楊貴妃) and the Emperor Xuanzong (唐玄宗) - the song of everlasting sorrow (長恨歌).
綠螘 - the green foam on the fresh wine, but also the name of such a wine. Today there is a yellow-greenish rice wine (better called liquor at 38% alcohol) called 竹葉青酒 (Green Bamboo Leaf Wine).
[5] Laughing sea gull is also the literal translation of black-headed gull from German (Lachmöwe).
[6] Maybe I've seen some kangaroo paws in a park in Perth, but up till now I didn't know the plant.
PS. Maybe you think there are some missing. You're right. I did not write any haiku while travelling north of the Arctic Circle.
