I’ve just looked at older texts. As I once had sent the Heart Sutra
in just three tweets into the world, I’d like to share it with you. For the translation
I relied on other translations as my proficiency in old Chinese Buddhist texts
isn’t very high.
If you look closer at the macro cosmos of galaxies and the micro cosmos
of atoms, you might appreciate a vast emptiness.
Here are the three tweets:
#zen #buddhism #heart_sutra
#zen

When the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (观自在菩萨) was practicing the profound
prajnaparamita, he illuminated the five skandhas and saw that they are all
empty, and he crossed over all suffering and affliction.
Form does not differ from emptiness; and
emptiness is not different from form. Form itself is emptiness; emptiness
itself is form. So, too, are feeling, cognition, formation, and discrimination.
The dharmas are empty. They are neither created nor destroyed, neither defiled nor pure, and they neither increase nor diminish.
The dharmas are empty. They are neither created nor destroyed, neither defiled nor pure, and they neither increase nor diminish.
There are no
eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, or mind. There are no sights, sounds, scents,
tastes, feelings, or dharmas. There is no field of vision and there is no field of thoughts.
There is no
ignorance nor elimination of ignorance, up to and including no old age and
death or the
ending of old age
and death.
Because nothing is attained, the Bodhisattva relies on
prajnaparamita and his mind has therefore no obstructions. Since there are no obstructions,
he is not afraid and he leaves backward dream-thinking behind. So his final result is nirvana.
The Buddhas of the three periods of time attain Anuttara-samyaksambodhi
they rely on prajnaparamita. Therefore, know that prajnaparamita is a great
spiritual mantra, a great bright mantra, a supreme mantra, an unequalled
mantra. It can remove all suffering. It is genuine and not false. That is
why the prajnaparamita mantra was spoken.
Recite it like this:
jiē dì jiē dì,bō
luó jiē dì, bō luó sēng jiē dì,pú
tí sà pó hē
or:
Gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha
