Carpe Diem Haiku Kai Weekend Meditation #100: waves of love

teardrops fall
in the middle of the night
no more hope

  as the night weekens
  love dries all tears

    succumbing to sleep
    swaying in waves of love

Carpe Diem #1847 Renga With Jane Reichhold +++ Dancing Lights (Renga: Juunichoo)

desert sounds
out of the sun's way
clouds moving

steadily forward and away
but the sea stays and the surf

curving with the land
a rainbow of clouds
moves out to sea

a seagull diving
a swimmer emerging

dancing lights
clouds sprinkle the sun
across water

a thousand silver mirrors
the silhouette of a boat

morning downpour
raised to new heights
afternoon clouds

the lyme grass glissens
the beach sand is cool and firm

beach tent billows
in the summer blue
white clouds

the cry of the seagull
arrives with the wind

clouds
colored by open wall
a driftwood lair

bleached wooden bones
and the desert falls silent

Carpe Diem Haiku Tan Renga Challenge No. 99 raindrops on bamboo

raindrops on bamboo
shimmer in the sunlight
little diamonds

I’ve written two stanzas for Chèvrefeuille’s haiku.

Wind approaches suddenly
Gone is the thief with riches

And then they all disappear
The bamboo nods in beauty

Carpe Diem Tan Renga Challenge Basho's "the old lady cherry''

ubazakura   saku ya rogo no   omoiide

the old-lady cherry
in bloom: a remembrance
of her old age

Spring will bring back youth to her
So happy in that pink dress

Listening to granny’s tale
As pink petals fill the air

Carpe Diem Tan Renga Challenge Cherry Blossoms fall by Shirao

Here is the haiku, the first stanza, by Shirao:

hito koishi hitoboshi koro wo sakura chiru

yearning fills my heart
when the candles are lit;
Cherry blossoms fall“

i.
Still radiant in colour
Perishing to be reborn

ii.
Sudden darkness enlightens
Mind becomes an empty cup

Carpe Diem's Tan Renga Challenge Month #VIII, MMT's ''even candent days''

even candent days
cannot drive the willow leaves
from their homing place
Magical Mystery Teacher

silence is called golden
leaves fall silently

the wind talks loud and louder
but leaves keep their silence

PS. Will be on vacation during the next weeks, most probably the last entry before returning from New Zealand.

Carpe Diem's Tan Renga Month #V, Sara McNulty's "Life completes circle''

life completes circle
at the end of the journey
death draws the last line
Sara McNulty

gloomy words on epitaph
butterflies fly by and rest

between abodes of death
a creeper finds place to bloom

Carpe Diem Haiku Tan Renga „Cricket Silence“

cricket silence
between scraping sounds
autumn begins                                   (Jane Reichhold)

coloured foliage falling
each bearing written wishes

a light rain leaves damp the leaves
night will start with wafts of mists

harvest fires are burning
reminiscing idle times

Carpe Diem Haiku Tan Renga Challenge, Buson's "In the stillness"

in the stillness
between the arrival of guests
the peonies
(Yosa Buson, 1716-1783)

pink peonie in the wind
moves like a ballet dancer

in the stillness
between the arrival of guests
the peonies
(Yosa Buson, 1716-1783)

not longing for kaiseki
not drinking tea but water

in the stillness
between the arrival of guests
the peonies
(Yosa Buson, 1716-1783)

while frangrant air is wafting
they hum the wind’s lullaby

Carpe Diem's Tan Renga Challenge, Basho's famous 'the old pond'

the old pond
a frog jumps in
the sound of water
(Matsuo Basho, 1644-1694)

Lilies closing their buds
Moon to keep his watch round

the old pond
a frog jumps in
the sound of water
(Matsuo Basho, 1644-1694)

Wind caresses the pine trees
Perfect for a cup of tea

the old pond
a frog jumps in
the sound of water
(Matsuo Basho, 1644-1694)

My shoes are in the old pond
Have to move on – on frog feet
