About Winter

Night without wings
Wind hissing through oaks
Cozy within

Slow north wind
Bringing fine grained snow
Steps turn west

Raging storm
Then a moment of silence
And the moon

Snow has left
But winter stays
Cold and muddy

End of the year
A square of concrete walls
Yet some blossoms

Frosty lake
No one’s at the jetty
Birds left, too

Winter moon
Above an icy pond
Silent night

Cold drizzle
Yet freeway’s clear bar code
Still got a honk

.
